The popular GURNEE DONUTS in Gurnee, IL was broken into early Saturday morning. In a social media post, they said:
“We are upset, but good. Nothing of value was taken. We are cleaned up, open for business, and waiting for our door to be boarded up.”
Well, after they boarded up, the community responded and came ready to support. In addition to buying dozens of donuts, customers signed their names and wrote encouraging messages on the boarded up door. Gurnee Donuts shared a photo and this message:
“We are part of an amazing community. You guys really showed up today. We definitely did not expect the amount of love and support shown from this incident. It truly means a lot to us. Thank you for all the kind messages.”
They also gave thanks to the Gurnee Police Department, and fellow business Big Ed’s BBQ who came to help out.
We really enjoy Gurnee Donuts and I’m glad to hear nothing of value was stolen. 🍩 ♥️

Did you ever go to Susie's Drive-In on Montrose? It closed in 2022, and is still missed today by its customers.
