It is difficult to self-custody gold because of transportation and vault storage. So there is a (need for) paper gold. It is easy to self-custody bitcoin because BTC can be transported over the internet around the world in 10min and stored in 12 words. No need for paper bitcoin.

Unfortunately, I have some pretty bad news to share. Last week Ikigai was caught up in the FTX collapse. We had a large majority of the hedge fund’s total assets on FTX. By the time we went to withdraw Monday mrng, we got very little out. We’re now stuck alongside everyone else.

As part of Binance’s exit from FTX equity last year, Binance received roughly $2.1 billion USD equivalent in cash (BUSD and FTT). Due to recent revelations that have came to light, we have decided to liquidate any remaining FTT on our books. 1/4
