On May 6, 2010, markets were already having a rough day, down over 300 points on worries about the Greece debt crisis. Later, the bottom fell out. The Dow dropped another 600 points in about 5 minutes. Nearly 1,000 points gone on the day. About 9%, kaboom. Then 20 minutes later, most of it came right back. This clip never gets old.

Today was the first day all year where I just whiffed on everything besides a $HIMS short. It happens. Started the day longing the $HIMS pullback to VWAP, noticed a sell program refreshing in the level 2 eating every buy, and flipped short instantly. Covered at pre-market levels. Biggest loss was fading oil. Figured tail risk was still elevated and that taking Trump's word was going to be a mistake for anyone short oil and long equities. Wrong. Followed up shorting BTC after the snap down, expecting a lower high. Gave it to the session highs as invalidation, bonked there. Still stalking the idea. Shorted ES from 6825, treating this as a large mean-reverting move off news volatility filling the gaps down from last week. Probably lost around 20k which is not bad but it's the first time all year where I just got tagged like Elias in Platoon.
