tbh if you can’t write stories for literally nine titular characters then maybe you shouldn’t be writing an ensemble show…

SL should've stuck to the genre. They only know how to write suspense drama, not regency romance. Idk why they tried to write a new genre when they inserted what they already know 🙄

JQ said how C, E & F's stories occurred around the same time by accident when she wrote them. Was it so hard for writers to instead make them occur in simultaneous years, given they already had the framework for the stories? The things they could've done 🙄

@lyss_bear None of the Bton siblings' stories work w/o including all of them. And it seems like for all of them, at least one is missing

They refuse to write Daphne into the story even though her absence was massively felt in s4 and is why Fran’s story doesn’t fully work

Araminta wasn’t struggling to survive. She was provided for, had security, status. But she chose to steal Sophie’s dowry, force her into servitude, isolate her, ruin her prospects, and ultimately throw her into a situation that could have ended in death or jail.

Laughing at the translations. Learning words from each other. Sharing lunch. Making it work. Other kids noticed. Started sitting with them. Whole table now. Mix of kids learning words in different languages. Teaching each other. That specific chaos of children making friendship out of nothing but willingness. Teacher called me. “Your daughter started something beautiful. That new girl was shutting down. Now she’s opening up. Learning faster. Smiling. All because someone sat with her first.” Asked my daughter why she did it. She looked confused. “She was alone. Nobody should eat lunch alone.” Said it like it was obvious. Like basic human math. Person alone plus empty seat equals sit down. Ten years old teaching the rest of us what we forgot somewhere along the way. That language isn’t the only way to communicate. That loneliness is louder than any words. That sometimes the most important thing you can do is just show up and sit down. Sometimes fifth graders understand kindness better than the rest of us combined.

We didn’t fight to work. Women have ALWAYS worked. We fought to get paid.

I agree with this author. When Bton promotes diversity as part of its show, y does it make a black character like Lord Danbury, who is so unappealing? It would've been to their benefit to make Black male leads more appealing. Srsly, makes no sense lithub.com/is-bridgertons…

@Ava_dearest The way he acted with #Saphne, I didn't have a problem with. But that whole Berbrooke plot & him blocking suitors annoyed me cuz he never did that in the book. & that plot lasted all of, what, 2 episodes? Seemed unnecessary to me

Am I the only person who never hated Anthony in S1? I had read his book already and totally understood where he was coming from. Did not find him terrible or objectionable in the least. On the contrary, I did like him a lot as he was.

Funny how there was a scene where the ladies of the ton were gossiping abt the Sharma family, yet there was no scene where they gossiped abt the Penwood family in the masquerade, even tho they've also been absent from society for several years. How many discrepancies 🙄

So S4, Penwood has both Korean and Chinese families, but S2, they had to stuff all regions of India into the Sharma family? Would it have been so hard to write multiple families from different parts of 🇮🇳 & show diversity? 😲 Srsly, writers, you have no imagination 🙄

So, they hired NC right? And she's already Irish. Would it have been a stretch to make 🪶 an Irish family? 🤷‍♀️ I swear, the missed opportunities for prod just keep piling everyday 🙄

Though #Kanthony is still my fav couple, Anthony was still a d*** in #BridgertonS1 when it came to Daphne. I was not happy with the way his character was written there, considering he's very different from the book, and had the potential to be written differently
