The fallen soldier was a combat engineer from Division 91 and a resident of Majdal Shams. According to initial reports, he is believed to be the first fallen soldier from Majdal Shams in this campaign. Tragically, this is not the first time Druze soldiers have been among the first to fall in battles on the northern front—similar to the loss of Lt. Col. Alim Abdallah (Sa’ad) and Sgt. Jawad Amer during the early stages of the Iron Swords War, in the very same sector.

Media Statement Addressed to U.S. Decision-Makers (The White House) We, the people of Suwayda (Bashan), state clearly and unequivocally that Laith al-Balous and Suleiman Abdul Baqi do not represent Suwayda—neither in form nor in substance. They possess no popular or moral legitimacy within the local community. Any attempt to present these individuals or any media figures, outlets, or spokespersons aligned with them as representatives of Suwayda constitutes political and media misrepresentation and is categorically rejected. Suwayda is innocent of all those who colluded with massacres, and innocent of anyone who chose to act as an instrument or arm of a terrorist government drenched in the blood of civilians. The massacres committed against our Kurdish and Alawite brothers were not isolated incidents, but rather a systematic criminal pattern that we firmly reject being repeated or replicated in Suwayda (Bashan). Jabal Bashan is not governed by proxies, nor is it sold through statements, media campaigns, or imposed figures manufactured outside the will of the people. Anyone—whether political actor or media figure—who aligned themselves with the killers, justified their crimes, or provided political or media cover for them has fallen morally and politically and no longer represents the free will of the people of Suwayda. Accordingly, we call upon the U.S. Administration, and the White House in particular, to: Refrain from recognizing or engaging with any individuals or media figures who lack genuine legitimacy within the local community of Suwayda. Reject attempts to impose proxies, narratives, or rejected names under any political, security, or media pretext. Listen to the authentic voice of the people of Suwayda (Bashan) who seek to protect their community, dignity, and independent decision-making, free from any terrorist government or its instruments. Our position is clear and unwavering: Suwayda stands for justice, against massacres, against proxies, and against the imposition of illegitimate figures and narratives. Any political approach that ignores these realities will only deepen instability and undermine prospects for genuine peace.
