Here are the documents we shared w/ @smbrugal of the @MiamiHerald. They restricted THE HILL WE CLIMB by @TheAmandaGorman, forward by @Oprah to grades 6-8 of the @MDCPS K-8 school after a parent complained it was “not educational” & contained “hate messages.” Absurdity.

Our peaceful protest was because another preventable school shooting happened at Covenant School in Nashville & the People's House chose to ignore them and expel us instead! We must work tirelessly to protect our kids, communities, to end gun violence, and protect our democracy.

In House Education Admin Committee right now where my Republican colleagues are hearing HB 1202 to allow teachers to carry guns in schools.
Our community is still grieving last week’s mass shooting at Covenant elementary that took 6 lives— their solution is more guns.
