The communist party HQ in Warsaw became the Warsaw stock exchange building the minute communism fell in Poland; later on it also had a Ferrari dealership on the ground floor (both has since moved out though).

W Warszawie były, rzadko ale jednak, oferty klasycyzującej architektury i się słabiej sprzedawały. Pozatym, akurat projekt osiedla Żerańskiego jest bardzo estetyczny.

Totalna bzdura. Całość będzie miała dojazd autem z każdej strony, a osiedle opierać się będzie na podziemnych garażach - jak każda nowa inwestycja. W końcu powstanie w Warszawie dzielnica zaprojektowana w całości ze zwartą tkanką miejską, usługami i przestrzenią rekreacyjną, a nie losową patodeweloperką.

@varsovie_style pomimo mojej pewnej niechęci do części architektury na gdańskim garnizonie (i braku zieleni) to akurat spore osiedla, które mają dla mieszkańców ofertę większą niż tylko sypialnia są zawsze plusem (tak, to akurat blisko centrum, ale clue to samo)

Lubie te swoje Szamoty, szczególnie wiosną i latem :D Do centrum Warszawy 12 km, a tutaj jest mimo to bardzo miejsko, dużo gastro, ludzie sobie chillują i jedzą, mimo środka tygodnia i godziny Większość miast mogłaby tak wyglądać, ale zjebaliśmy ostatnie 30 lat 🫠

@Stern_66 Most people in Poland simply maintain the memory of those events, which are deeply rooted in our culture. Only a small portion, primarily on X, feel any real resentment.

@vanhanenist Moreover, I believe there is nothing ethno-narcissistic about discussing a country's wrongdoing. Honest European dialogue should be based on a dialogue about history, not its distortion. Poland has some traumas, but it also has a lot to say sorry for.

@vanhanenist But, you've literally got the wars mixed up. Sigismund's wars, initiated by Poland, were the First and Second Polish-Swedish Wars. And we're talking about the Sixth Polish-Swedish War. That's 70 years later.

@vanhanenist The Swedish phobia of Catholicism was dictated by the Thirty Years' War, not by Poland, which at that time was sometimes pro-Protestant, sometimes pro-Catholic.

@Wik_Kucharski The Holocaust was an attempted genocide, what happened to Germans afterwards was a successful one. Sweden only ever wanted Poland to stop claiming certain territories that weren't ethnically Polish. The Swedish phobia of other religions is Poland's fault for obvious reasons.

@vanhanenist I never said I thought Żeligowski's rebellion was right, or that it was proper. I only said it wasn't genocide. And most of the residents of Vilnius spoke Polish before the Polish takeover. In 1897, Lithuanians constituted 2% of the population.

@Wik_Kucharski You made Lithuanians a small minority in their own capital and held onto it in the interwar period, violence involved. Lviv is a similar history. I'm glad Turku and Stockholm never had such periods in their histories. I'd much rather be deluged than ethno/genocided.
