Asadullah Mengal and Ahmed Shah Baloch were the first known victims of enforced disappearances in Balochistan. They were abducted on February 6, 1976, marking the beginning of a dark pattern of state violence. Almost five decades later, families still wait for truth and justice. Asma Jattak, a Baloch woman, has been abducted by state-backed militias in Khuzdar, Balochistan. Armed men raided her home around 1 AM, taking her while others were tortured. We urge human rights organisations to take notice of the matter to ensure her safe recovery.
