Let me tell you what rivalry is with a short story. The year is 2018: I was seated in Wankhede when CSK were 85/7 chasing 160-odd. And then Bravo decided to come alive and cart Bumrah and McClenaghan around the park. With every six, chants of CSK CSK reverberated in Wankhede, MI's den. Kedar Jadhav on one leg hits winning runs. Imagine the humiliation for an MI fan walking out of Wankhede after what he witnessed. First game curse was going to be broken and suddenly it is all just like every year. The moment it was all over and things calmed down, be it just while walking down the Wankhede stairs or while going to Marine Lines station, yellow and blue shirts were walking together and just recalling the beautiful moments they witnessed. MI vs CSK has always been fierce on the field. But once the 40 overs are done, there is a sense of maturity and understanding that there is legacy to both the clubs and fans know that. Is the comparison even fair? - Bumrah played 52 tests for India and Bhuvi played just 21 still Bumrah is trolled - Bhuvi has 2 purple caps in IPL but no remarkable performance in any ICC event whereas we witnessed Bumrah's greatness in CWC 2019,2023 and T20WC 2024, 2026 still people will say Bumrah only performs for his franchise.
