Following the blast at a Christian center in the Netherlands earlier today, the Iran-linked front group Ashab al-Yamin issued a statement warning people to avoid American and Zionist interests. The group said that two Netherlands-based institutions - the Israel Products Center and Christians for Israel - promote Christian Zionism and support Israel economically through the sale of Israeli goods. The message accuses these institutions of providing financial and moral backing to Israel. Ashab al-Yamin also invokes religious arguments, claiming historical Jewish responsibility for the crucifixion of Jesus in an effort to discourage Christian support for Zionism. --- The publication is similar to a previous video in which Ashab al-Yamin threatened Bank of America in Paris. My initial assessment is that the release of the warning is likely tied to the bombing that occurred earlier today at a Christian institution in the Netherlands. When people rightly point to Hasan’s radical politics, they often overlook the crowd around him. Case in point: German Gonzalez, who introduced Hasan Piker at Stanford this week, was also one of the students involved in the 2024 takeover of the university president’s office. And unlike several of the other Stanford defendants who took plea deals or diversion-style exits, Gonzalez was among the five who pushed on to trial. That case ended in a mistrial, and prosecutors are moving to try it again.
