2024 has been a transformative year for MA and in reflecting back, two things have stood out to me as being particularly moving. First, the unwavering dedication and unequaled talent of our team. Most of them joined us when we were not much more than a program in a small school district in a corner of California. They willingly and enthusiastically climbed on board and adopted Jason’s vision. We have had the privilege of watching them grow into their own, both personally and professionally, into the powerhouses they are today that produce to exceptional standards. There is nothing more rewarding than that. Second, words cannot express how unexpected and grateful we feel for the community of support that has sprung up around MA. In our wildest dreams, we couldn’t have wished for such an astonishing thing to happen. You (and if you are wondering if I am talking to directly to you, I am) have become what I consider friends, even though we have never met and are half a planet away. It is overwhelmingly humbling to be able to participate in personal journeys of recovery through, of all the unlikely things, the fundamentals of math, overcoming odds, history and circumstances, that I have received many stories via email. It is an honor that I have no words to express. My most sincere wishes to you in 2025: health, peace, happiness and yes, automaticity.

I'm just thrilled to hear when kids are succeeding! "Our son has been enjoying his time on Math Academy, making steady progress towards his SAT fundamentals goals. We've also found that he's made progress on another independent, objective metric: the NWEA MAP test score. Last year as an 8th grader he was placed in the low 80th percentile. He just got his 9th grade MAP score and he's now in the 91st percentile. I personally believe the regular daily practice with him enjoying chasing XPs and wanting to stay in the diamond league has a lot to do with it. I love how your program homes in on missing fundamentals and drills those until he is proficient. We've tried many online math learning tools, including Khan Academy, IXL, and Brilliant. I have to say, Math Academy is the best I've seen out there in terms of impact. Thank you!"

@justinskycak I’m speechless, I was looking at Physics Graph after finishing MF3 but looks like I won’t even need that, MathAcademy already got it done. So one question, can I start this course just after finishing MF3 or should I follow a smoother step before getting into this course ?

Our Math for ML course is getting so much love we decided to make one for physics as well. Two, actually. Released today. The math behind vibrations/waves, E&M, diffusion & heat equations, dynamical systems, signal analysis, uncertainty propagation, computational modeling, ... There's also a third one on our radar: the math behind quantum mechanics, field theory, continuum mechanics, and modern mathematical physics.

I'm delighted to announce that @_MathAcademy_ has released two courses in Mathematical Methods for the Physical Sciences. Designed for students who want the mathematical tools needed for undergraduate-level study in physics, engineering, and other STEM fields. Details below👇

@CorwinTheGrey @ninja_maths Yes, this is high on our priority list. Coming very soon! Please also keep in mind that all our topics are linked through the knowledge graph, so progress in one course is reflected in overlapping topics in another course.

@ninja_maths Awesome. Is there going to be a way to allow students to dual register for this and their normal course progress?

@Ki_fun_thoughts @WayneVaughan @rburton @ninja_maths I can assure you that it's ours, and it's created entirely in-house, by hand, and is rendered using GraphViz on top of D3. Jason and Justin built the tech and Alex built out the graph nodes over the past six years.

@WayneVaughan @rburton @ninja_maths @_MathAcademy_ I asked AI to review the graph: {This image is a visualization of the Khan Academy Knowledge Map, likely rendered using D3.js or a similar force-directed graph library.} This is what I use public AI for mostly.

For anyone wondering how a third-grader can complete six years' worth of math in a single year. This knowledge graph spans 3,000 math topics, from 4th grade to the university level, providing the perfect basis for mastery learning. Students can go as fast or far as they want! There are no restrictions whatsoever. The only requirement is that they must demonstrate mastery of each topic before moving on to the next. Kids are capable of incredible things when given that kind of freedom and support.

Today feels big. My third grader earned another stripe on his BJJ belt and then casually finished the last lesson of his Calc BC course.  This kid, who just over a year ago claimed he hated math, fell in love with the subject when he started @_MathAcademy_. He became thirsty for more and more math. He has been setting his own goals, and they vastly exceeded anything I would have dared set for him.   He finished 6th through 12th grade math in just over a year.  He hates reviews 😂 and loves new lessons. He doesn't like calculations but loves concepts. He takes math notebooks to restaurants so he can toy with proofs while he waits for his food. And he cannot wait for the MA Abstract Algebra course (@ninja_maths, counting on you!)

@fstflofscholars Yes! Our Geometry course has proofs, but our curriculum follows standards, and other courses don't require them. Our Calc courses do include some derivations.

This is incredible! We are so proud of the hard work you, as a family, have put in. Our previous record, as far as we know, is a 5th grader finishing BC Calc. (Link in comments). Congrats on the stripe, too!

@ninja_maths @_MathAcademy_ How did you generate this graph? I’m working an education project that maps standardized test requirements to discrete skills. Would love to learn how you mapped the dependencies.

Thank you! Yes, you need separate accounts for each so they can have their own, unique knowledge and spaced repetition profiles, etc. You can add a student to your account through your Settings. Please hover over the circle in the upper right to access your account settings. Then, click on the dropdown arrow next to your name and the Add Student link will appear. Your account will become a combo account where you will have your lessons and manage your kids' through the Learn and Students tabs at the very top of the page. They will have separate logins to their student accounts.

For a 3rd-grader to go from "I hate math" to covering 6 years of mastery-based math in a single year, including calculus, is nothing short of absolutely phenomenal. Deepest admiration and respect for this young lad. What a future he has ahead of him.
