A spectacular sight 1225m (4019 ft) beneath the waves off Baja California as EVNautilus encounter the amazing Halitrephes maasi jelly.

@RealCosima Not an appy but a delicious treat. A vegan friend recently brought me a bag of Kirkland (Costco) Dark chocolate covered dried mango. They taste like Turkish delight.

@justinehud As I am most often diving with several female crew. There are extra challenges due to the Drysuit and all the thermal layers. My preference is a tall bucket. Some still prefer the over the side. I am seeing more folks using a device. Or even a device and a bucket in rough sees.

Mystery jellies abound on beach today. For scale, woody bits ~ 1cm long. Could have been torn up Moon Jelly pieces from storm except all about same size and shape. Ideas? @jellywatch

@AnneinBamfield @jellywatch Perhaps from Corolla calceola. They respond to disturbance by flapping their 'wings' then glide down. Are you finding hard -slightly gelatanous clear things on the beach, that fit over your thumb? They may be the protective psuedoconch from these gorgeous creatures.

Oct 20, 2021 — Full Moon today. Nothing special — Earth gets 12 or 13 of them per year. FYI: Even though high tides are highest during Full Moon, let’s not forget that low tides are also at their lowest.

We’ve all seen Tides ebb & flow on shorelines. But Earth’s tidal bulge is fixed in space relative to the Moon. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Earth’s rotation is what drags us into and out of that bulge, leaving us with the daily illusion that Tide waters moves at all.

This morning I walked to my car and a construction man was leering at me and I just want to personally thank his male coworker who spoke up and told him to stop. I went from feeling disgusted and creeped out to feeling safe and I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW IMPORTANT THAT IS. Men speak up
