Haruto is from Fukuoka in Japan and studied rap and dance since he was very young. In 2017, he registered as a trainee in the YG Entertainment Japan branch at just 12 years old! Haruto was introduced as Tim J in the survival program YG Treasure Box in 2018 and attracted attention with his heavy voice and during the show 'Dat $tick' by Rich Brian. In the final selection, Haruto slayed, performing 'HIT ME' by MOBB (ft. KUSH) and was eventually selected as the first permanent member and the only original member of the Japanese group TREASURE 7. On August 7, 2020, Haruto debuted with Treasure with the debut single 'Boy', after writing the rap lyrics for the song! Treasure won the 'Rookie of the Year' Award at both the Asia Artist Awards and Golden Disk Awards that same year! Haruto has won numerous awards as a member of Treasure including 6 MAMA Awards, 2 Asia Artist Awards, 2 Golden Disc Awards, 2 Fact Music Awards, 1 Asian Pop Music Awards, 1 Hanteo Music award, 1 Seoul Music award and 1 Japan Golden Disc Award!
Haruto is also a talented actor, and made his acting debut through the web-drama 'It's Okay, That's Friendship' which was broadcast through the channel YouTube TREASURE (트레저). His became even more popular as an actor after starring in the web-drama "The Mysterious Class" produced by YG Entertainment along with Bamboo Network.
