Longtime Knicks announcer John Andariese, “Johnny Hoops,” passes away at 78 dlvr.it/Nd3DfW

Everyone is talking about how it’s $10,000 to get into MSG for the NBA Finals. Not enough people are talking about how the Knicks publicly traded stock has outperformed pretty much everything outside of AI over the last year.

Neil Sedaka had already made his name before 1964 when the Beatles arrived and changed everything. He didn’t fret. He reinvented himself with, among other hits, Laughter in the Rain and Bad Blood, both No. 1 singles in ’74 and ’75. He also wrote Love Will Keep Us Together, a No. 1 for Captain & Tennille, proof that Sedaka’s back wasn’t just an appealing lyric. During the pandemic I took comfort in the mini-concerts he posted almost daily from his home piano to YouTube. Here’s one with Calendar Girl, Breaking Up Is Hard to Do, and Laughter in the Rain. Adam Silver revealed that both he and Michael Jordan have unsuccessfully tried to mend the relationship between Charles Oakley and James Dolan, per @Rachel__Nichols. Oakley has attended Knicks road games this postseason but remains banned from MSG following a feud with Dolan that began in 2017.

83 years of the Kangaroo Kid. 🦘 wishing a happy birthday to the legendary Billy Cunningham!
