Today at @statisticsRW , Cenfri hosted training on AI Decision-making & deployment for Chief Digital Officer deployed in government in Rwanda. This workshop is designed to deepen their practical understanding of AI.

Today, following the conclusion of a capacity building workshop on the National Emergency Telecommunications Plan (NETP), Rwanda launched the National ICT Cluster; marking a major step forward in strengthening national resilience. Bringing together key stakeholders across government, regulators, security agencies, humanitarian partners and the private sector, the initiative will enhance coordination, interoperability and real time information sharing in emergencies. The Cluster will also drive the development and validation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), a national ICT contingency plan and continued capacity building; ensuring faster and more effective disaster response across the country.

Yesterday, we brought together Government of Rwanda Chief Digital Officers from different public institutions for an AI training session facilitated by @cenfri_org . The session focused on strengthening practical understanding of AI, from generative AI to practical government use cases, implementation options, and the governance considerations that come with deploying AI in the public sector. As AI continues to evolve rapidly, sessions like this help ensure that government institutions are not only adopting AI, but doing so in a way that delivers real impact for citizens across sectors.

During his closing remarks, PS. @NgogaAristarque highlighted that over the past 2 days, the #BOSAI Exhibition & Research Dialogue demonstrated the power of partnership, innovation, and knowledge sharing in advancing DRR. He expressed sincere appreciation to the Government and people of Japan, @JicainRwanda, Japanese companies, researchers, private sector partners, and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of this event. PS. Ngoga emphasized that effective DRR requires stronger cooperation between government, academia & partners, data-driven decision-making, and translating research into real policies.

This morning at the launch of the Rwanda FinTech Centre, Minister @MusoniPaula reflected on Rwanda’s progress in digital finance, noting that while financial inclusion has surpassed 90%, the next priority is ensuring fintech innovation can scale and deliver solutions that respond to the needs of businesses and communities. “I’m hoping that we move beyond the launch to real implementation, real progress and real impact. We move from pilots in our fintech ecosystem to scalable initiatives, and from individual efforts to coordinated ecosystem growth.”
