11 years ago, a 16-year-old kid was bagging groceries at a supermarket when a customer took his photo without him knowing and posted it online.
Alex Lee started his shift on 2 November 2014 with 144 Twitter followers. By the time his mum picked him up from work that evening, he had 100,000. By the next morning, 300,000. His phone number was leaked and the notifications crashed it completely. Within days, #AlexFromTarget was the number one trending topic on the platform. Girls showed up at his store in groups. A man offered his co-workers a hundred dollars to find out where he was. His manager moved him to the stockroom to finish his shift.
His family’s personal and financial records were leaked online. His girlfriend, who he’d met in chemistry class two weeks earlier, started receiving threats from strangers. He appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, was flown across the country for appearances, and eventually had to leave school because of it all.
The day he turned 18 he moved cities to try to build a career in social media. He hated it. One manager took control of his accounts. Another allegedly stole over $30,000 from him. He fired them both and quit the internet entirely.
He’s 27 now. Lives with his girlfriend, loads trucks at a delivery depot in the mornings, and has no public social media presence. In 2024 he said the job pays less but he’s a lot happier. “I never wanted to be ‘Alex from Target.’ Absolutely not.”

NEW: Florida mom who attacked school deputy with husband now trying to withdraw no-contest plea
Dagmarie Aponte Iturrino initially pleaded no contest after she and her husband attacked a Volusia County resource officer in 2024.
She is now seeking to change that plea to not guilty.
Aponte Iturrino was seen pushing the deputy against a wall; her husband then punched the officer and grabbed her Taser.
The deputy recovered, drew her firearm, and took both into custody.
She was treated for a concussion.
Aponte Iturrino was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence, disruption of a school function, and trespassing on school grounds.
Iturrino appeared in court in February 2026 with a new attorney, seeking to withdraw her previous plea.
Jorge Rivera, her husband, pleaded no contest in November of last year and was sentenced to 45 days in jail.

Another school violence incident—how many have there been, yet the kids still take it lightly. There should be some tough deterrent measures to curb this behavior. We can't keep excusing students as lacking awareness of their actions; tighten the reins so they learn to fear the consequences and change. part 1

This Karen films a sick guy throwing up.
An officer who saw it happen politely asks her to delete the video and show some respect.
After the officer tells her that he hopes someone takes a picture of her while she’s throwing up, she runs back and kicks a random man standing nearby, then tries to run away.
She gets tackled and arrested on the spot.
Then the meltdown hits: “I need to call someone! I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life!”
What do you mean… consequences?! 😭🔥
