Big bonus? For whom? A large share of salaried taxpayers are already in the new tax regime where HRA exemption is useless. This is headline management, not relief. You keep milking the same compliant middle-class while lakhs stay outside the tax net. Expand the tax base, cut rates, and stop punishing honesty. This isn’t taxation anymore, it feels like legalized loot.

@KiranKS in the second picture we shoud get a sub category one for salaried class and other for buisness/corporate/professional. Then will come to know how much each one is contributing in 21% of gov't income.

The urban middle class is the most punished section of Indian society. They pay direct income tax. They pay GST. The companies they work for, pay Corporate tax. Almost all the tax burden is on them! Raise your hand if you are in that burdened but niche category 🙋

Taxes shouldn't come down for people who are paying 60k tax but for those who are paying 10L, 20L, 30L, 40L tax. Kids education fees should be tax exempt, surcharge should be removed, highest slab below 50L should be not more than 20%, severance package should be exempted.
