Mentioned on Sunday’s pod Smith going back had less to do with CFP and more to do with Lacy leaning back to Ole Miss. Rebels beating Georgia was huge on field and off. Gave them time to re-recruit roster after portal opened. Also, motivated donor base to pay to keep their guys from LSU after reps had agreed to deals. Even more important that LSU retained Harlem Berry. Also, doubt this is all the retention announcements from Ole Miss. LSU will still likely sign a top portal class.
