Problems are usually systemic and require digging deep for a sustainable solution. A short thread of how I learned to approach problems in a different way. I will give some examples from work, study and an interview. #SystemsThinking

😃 😀 😄 Forgive me. This is very funny to those of us who know Thabiso professionally and personally. The idea of her "hating Nigerians" is hilarious...given what we know. You must be the only exception. You need small humility, because wetin you write here na nonsense. Na pure fiction, no single truth dey inside am. Make you stop Abeg! And what you had with Oxford was not a "fracas." It was brazen mendacity. You lied about your qualifications and association with Oxford. Any publisher would cancel a contract especially after the matter escalated when Oxford gave its institutional response. Oxford terminated you and yet you expect a small business/publisher to keep you? A big institution like Oxford raised concerns about breaches and conduct - misuse of university branding and facilities. There were other complaints. And it made it clear that you were never a professor or graduate as claimed, just a visiting scholar. So you misrepresented your stature. Accusations of misogyny and sexism did not orginate from Thabiso. They came from students, attendees at a book launch, multiple social media posts and the investigation from the University Newspaper, Cherwell. Thabiso did what was expected of her as a woman and a publisher. She acted on this and ended your contract. Lastly, what does a loan have to do with matters related to your probity? People borrow money all the time - from banks, friends, family, colleagues. It's not a thing. You mention it to prove what exactly? That Thabiso once needed money? So what? There is something wrong with you if you place the same moral equivalence between request for a loan and lies and misogyny accusations. You dey disappoint no be small oo. Abeg, try grow up jare! We love Nigerians; those wey dey truthful, elegant, and sharp, wey dey respect women and no dey do tribalism.

It will never make sense to me that policemen got a hold of a civilian linked with arms who repeatedly said the main man was in Sapele and he was willing to take them there, yet they executed him rather than follow the Sapele lead. Sorry, it actually 'makes sense' to me why they would shoot him rather than attempt to find his accomplices. And I know it 'makes sense' to you too...

@ayooladejo Sadly so. Generally speaking, I am not in support of mass migration at the lower end of the economic spectrum. It only leads to issues like this. We went through it in 1983 as well with Ghana Must Go.

Away from all the xenophobic lamentations and happenings….ive been an avid consumer of South African creative output for most of my life. Music, literature, and drama. I just finished binging ‘Shaka Ilembe”. Great storytelling.

If your party doesn’t treat civil servants and retirees right in a state where civil servants are the elites; you will most likely struggle to win elections. Selah ….

My prayer for this young man. May you become the Joseph that liberates your family. May your siblings also do very well, so there is much progress in the family. And may your parents truly enjoy the fruits of their labour in good health. Amen.

Amid the flood of felicitations following my convocation as Overall Best Graduating Student of LAUTECH, I find it necessary to address the stir around my NELFUND appreciation post. I accept the praise, life changing offers and the backlash, in good faith. Still, it is only fair to set the record straight. I hail from a village in Osun State, raised in a modest family of five. I attended public primary and secondary schools, not by choice, but because even the most inexpensive private schools were beyond our means. Even then, survival itself; food and clothing was a daily struggle. I walked miles to school each morning, while my parents laboured as jacks-of-all-trades to make ends meet. For nine defining years before I entered university, we lived within sight of basic amenities yet beyond our reach, no electricity, no television; just lanterns and candles. Against these odds, I earned a scholarship and now this distinction. In my third year, a coursemate’s father, someone I had once tutored academically, gifted me my first smartphone which I am still using till now. On several occasions, lecturers, moved by quiet compassion, provided me with clothing. There are many other instances, too numerous to recount. So, I say this plainly, not all of us are born with a silver spoon. Some of us climbed the ladder by holding on to every rung of legitimate support we could find. As an engineering student aspiring to make academic history, should I resort myself to blaming my family’s financial situation for my inability to afford fees and essentials like a reliable smartphone or laptop needed for skills and certifications? For me personally, NELFUND was not incidental; it was instrumental and to acknowledge what helped one’s journey is neither propaganda nor misplaced allegiance. It is simply an act of appreciation. Thank you @NELFUND and everyone that contributed to this success! Greatness awaits all of Us.

A Nigerian doctor in the UK was caught doing similar nonsense. A Nigerian doctor in the USA made a video saying it is because the doctor didn’t experience dating cos of studying. Bullshit. I hope he sees this video.

The problem with having owners who aren’t passionate about football is that it is all transactional. How do you sign Rojunior, or Shey na Rosenior with no track record to lead world champions. Disgraceful…

Most people are surprised when they hear I went from professional football to green chemistry. But to me, it was a natural transition. ⚽️👨🏽‍🔬 Growing up in the south of France, I was surrounded by nature and the sea from an early age. As my football career progressed, so did my awareness of global warming and the impact that different industries have on the environment and on our health. The products most of us use every day, from shampoos to cleaning products to paints, are still built on fossil-based ingredients. Changing that became my mission.🌱 In 2013, I co-founded GFBiochemicals to make everyday products safer and more sustainable using plant-based ingredients. Football prepared me for this journey more than I expected the discipline, the resilience, and what it truly means to be part of a team. But there is an important shift: as a player, you’re judged on your own performance. As a founder & CEO, your role is to lead and inspire your team, and to share success together. I spoke with Harvard Business Review France about my journey: the transition from international footballer to Green Chemistry entrepreneur, the challenge of building in a sector I came to as an outsider.
