Everyone is talking about this video, but I think this is two people trying to avoid each other and Conner just making a mistake at the shortstop position. The slide is clearly off the base and then he comes clearly off the base to meet the slide. I think he had it pre-decided in his mind that he was going to try to avoid a direct slide and they just ended up at the same place.
