@blueorder It gets worse internationally. The fact that we have to bow down to third party apps like WhatsApp and others seems insane in 2023 heading into 2024.

@bjayfry True. Not many ppl care about encryption. Reliability has been more of an issue personally because of the issues I've had recently. Interoperability should be what we are talking about. People dont like change. They're comfortable using the default in the US.

@blueorder At the risk of speaking for the masses, I think people would consider reliability over privacy. Most people are not sending messages they would worry about being made public.

@bjayfry Hmmm. I "have to" agree with you on that with the issues I just had 😆 (although I kinda blame a certain fruit party on that). I still believe that people just want it to work securely without jumping thru hoops.

@blueorder Disagree. I just want to know that when I send a message you get it. Whether it has fun things or not is not even a consideration if the initial expectation is not met.

@bjayfry Agree. Users between both platforms just want E2EE, multimedia parity and some of the fun things like reactions. The thing that I go back to is that Apple is all about security and encryption when it comes to messaging until it's outside the ecosystem. Then, it falls back to SMS.

@blueorder Agree nobody cares if it’s blue or green, just want it to work. So if you want to be blue, get an iPhone. Nobody really cares about the additional features that comes with so long as you have multi media messaging available.

@blueorder @SportsSturm Just seems like it’s one of those things that’s technically legit but not holding to the intent of the rule. Especially in this case because he was basically blown up. Maybe we just need better ST guys who don’t get in that position.
