I have now driven over 500 km on FSD. It is really impressive. But it is definitely not ready for robotaxi applications. A few examples I encountered during my 500 km: (1) 4 times it simply refused to react to the traffic light turning green. I had to give it a push (2) 1 time it got stuck at a place where people were working on the road. It did not find the solution of moving over to the tram lane (3) it mistook a bike lane close to a roundabout (Tesla has the right of way) for a bike lane that belonged to the roundabout (bikes have the right of way). (4) in a situation where it did not have the right of way, it hesitated to go on the main road where cars were approaching from a distance. First it proceeded, then it stopped, then proceeded, etc. If I had not pushed the pedal, it would have ended up stopping with the front of the car exposed to the oncoming cars. So, the problem is not that it is not good. It is really good. But for robotaxi applications, it is far from sufficient. And we all know that the hardest part is the last part. It will be interesting to see how this will all play out.

The moment the market realizes and believes that Tesla is expanding its Robotaxi fleet exponentially and scales up fast is the moment the stock will rise to new all-time highs and it will happen in 2026. $tsla

Volvo just dropped a ~700km electric truck into the mix. ~44t GCW ~28t payload ~650hp ~700kWh battery ~A$450k upfront ....but ~$1.7–2M cheaper to run over 10 yrs. Add Tesla + Windrose + BYD, & fleets now have more choice. Diesel just lost another lane.⚡🚛 #Bettrification thedriven.io/2026/04/16/vol…

Musk made the deliberate choice to become a dangerous idiot who supports fascist forces in the West. He threw his entire reputation away by doing so

People still do not understand what he is doing. He is manufacturing outrage. He knows you are shocked by the image. He knows you will not believe his lie about it having nothing to do with seeing himself as Jesus. And what is worse (for people not to realize): also his supporters know all this. They all just have a good laugh that everyone is outraged again and that their guy is once more lying for them to manufacture even greater outrage.

Trump’s excuse for posting the AI image of himself as Jesus Christ is that he thought he was actually a doctor in the photo, not Jesus. Just such a blatant lie. Embarrassing that he’s digging this hole deeper for himself.

This morning I tested Full Self-Driving Supervised for the first time on our Model Y. I live near the center of Amsterdam, which is a challenging test environment. My wife, oldest son, and niece joined me for the first ride. I first had to watch a video that explains the system and how to use it responsibly. Then I had to answer questions in a 'quiz' where I had to acknowledge that I understood all responsibility rested on me. I was impressed by how well it worked. In the short, maybe 20 minute ride, we encountered several challenging situations, one of which was a genuine edge case. First, there were two ladies standing between two cars parked on the right side of the lane I was driving in. It was not clear if they wanted to cross the street. The Tesla stopped, and the ladies crossed the street. Then the edge case. We were driving behind another car - a small van - towards a point where people worked on the road we were driving on. The car before me stopped. I did not know what it wanted. Was it waiting to pass a little later? I could not see what obstructed it, as the van blocked my sight. Then the van's lights started to blink. Behind me were many other cars, also waiting. After a while it became clear to me that the van before me would not pass, because it belonged to the people working on the road I was driving on. So the only option I had was to move over to the tram lane in the middle of the street to be able to pass. Clearly the Tesla did not come to the same conclusion. It just kept waiting forever, it seemed. I could not keep everyone waiting, so I decided to take control and steered the car onto the tram lane. That was this morning. And now that I have tested some more today, I already encountered several more such cases. Here are my general conclusions after roughly 1.5 hours of testing: (1) FSD takes risks I would never take (2) FSD does not take risks I would take (3) FSD is mostly safe, but not entirely (4) FSD is far from ready for being in complete control in robotaxi applications Below a video my wife made of the first minutes of testing.
