@Nicknamzoom I’m gonna assume you’re being genuine and let you know that this sort of comment doesn’t make people feel better. It implies that the individual she loved can be replaced, and that it wasn’t important because it wasn’t human. A simple “sorry for your loss” is preferable.

I think David’s point is understandable & correct, & I think the culture/social attitude (?) that breeds responses like “hey FBI, got one” or “oh, so you’re admitting you’re a rapist?” is harmful & anti-intellectual, & literally proves said point.

Honestly I’m suspicious of anyone who imagines every rapist as an evil malicious subhuman because that often means they believe themselves to be definitionally incapable of rape. Which is extremely common among rapists.
