@arrtnem What about all the women who won't be able to break the chains of not existing

YES. Not because babies are bad. Not because motherhood is some scam in the abstract. Not because every woman secretly wants the same sterile, hyper-independent, softly lit apartment with one plant and no interruptions. The reason that number hits so hard is simpler. For once, a statistic sounds like breath. For once, it sounds like millions of women looking at the script they were handed - marry, shrink, accommodate, reproduce on schedule, call the exhaustion purpose - and saying, maybe not. Maybe not yet. Maybe not like this. Maybe not for a world that treats women’s bodies like public infrastructure and then acts confused when they hesitate to donate the rest of their life to the machine. That’s what makes the “YES” feel so primal. It is not anti-child. It is anti-automatic. For too long, womanhood was sold with this built-in conveyor belt fantasy. You are a girl, then a young woman, then a wife-shaped person, then a mother, and everybody around you acts like the sequence is as natural as weather. Not one option among many. The option. Miss the timing and suddenly the room changes temperature. People start speaking to you in coded language. “Do you want kids someday?” becomes “What are you doing with your life?” “There’s still time” becomes “Your body is a clock and everyone can hear it except you.” That pressure sits in the body in gross little ways. A family dinner. Someone asking when it’s your turn while cutting chicken. A coworker saying “you’ll understand when you have kids” like your current life is just a waiting room. A doctor looking at your age before they look at your actual needs. A random man online talking about fertility like your ovaries are a public market report. Then this number drops and suddenly it feels like a lot of women are quietly, finally, stepping out of formation. 52%. That is not a fringe. That is not a tiny rebellion. That is not a sad leftover category of women who “couldn’t.” That is a social reality. Which means millions of women are living in the gap between what was expected and what is actually happening. Working. surviving. dating. leaving. healing. freezing eggs. not freezing eggs. traveling. caregiving. paying rent. staring at the ceiling at 01:12 wondering if they want children or if they just want the shame to stop. That distinction matters. Because a lot of women were never given the luxury of asking the clean question: Do I want this. The question came wrapped in a hundred other anxieties. Will I regret it. Will I be judged. Will anyone stay if I say no. Can I afford it. Can my body handle it. Can my mind handle it. Do I even have enough self left after work and bills and trauma and modern life chewing through my nervous system every day. Do I want a child, or do I want a life that feels meaningful and loved and less lonely. That last one is the knife. A lot of people confuse the hunger for meaning with the hunger for motherhood. A lot of people confuse the fear of emptiness with the desire for children. A lot of people confuse social approval with instinct. Women know this in their bones now, even if they do not always have the language for it. The world is too expensive. Too loud. Too unstable. Too extractive. Housing is a joke. Healthcare is a joke. Work follows you into the bed. Childcare costs feel like a threat. People barely have enough energy to text their friends back, and somehow society still acts shocked that women are not sprinting joyfully toward irreversible, body-altering, life-swallowing responsibility. It is not a mystery. A woman sits in her car at 18:47 after work, forehead on the steering wheel, not even crying, just empty, and someone somewhere is still asking why she is “waiting so long.” Waiting for what. For her life to become survivable. For partnership to stop looking like unpaid labor.

@jbraunstein914 @xwanyex I'd be asking questions of my own demographic why more than 50% of us are causing problems, not playing victim

@xwanyex Would you be ok with being treated differently if you were in the profiled demographic but knew you were innocent? In other words, is the legitimacy of double standard dependent on whether or not it inconveniences you personally

@NotFarLeftAtAll It's death tax, you're making money out of people dying. You get taxed on everything while you're alive. You might die today, you might die in 10 years. It's a ridiculous tax and an unreliable source of income for the government.

Rudd Gullit on England’s “football’s coming home” song. "The thing is that England sees it as a gimmick, but the rest of the world sees it as arrogance. That's the difference." "England don’t own football. They invented it but a lot of countries made it better.” 🤨🤨🤨

Reformers, We are moving through hostile terrain. The left-wing press is spreading lies about us. The so-called right-wing press is doing the same, because it is an arm of the Tory party. Failed Tories are trying to infiltrate us and destroy our agenda from within. Hold the line. As a startup party, we have already made history and smashed the two-party system. We will not back down. We will defeat the uniparty and break the establishment that has failed and betrayed the British people. @Nigel_Farage will be our Prime Minister, supported by a majority of turquoise-blooded Reform MPs. A brighter future awaits Britain. 🇬🇧

@ARLukomski @MardyMariner98 Theres a scenario where Notts County could win and draw their last two games and get pipped to auto by a team that's only just got into a playoff spot 😂

With Grimsby’s last-gasp win at Cambridge United, Chesterfield have dropped to eighth in the League Two table. They do, however, retain control of their play-off destiny due to head-to-head matches between the various contenders. A breakdown of those permutations⬇️: #Spireites

@MiriVinni I feel like reality is in some ways an objective malleable fluid substance and when people try to completely grasp it, box it in and be completely correct it often seems to fall apart for them in some way

Teams that can catch, or be caught by Town. Tonight’s result means Town can’t finish lower than 9th - last year’s final placing - so, yet another sign of progress with Town hitting form at just the right time. #gtfc
