I see it as deterrence.
And can I remind everyone of President Trump’s own statement?
“A whole civilization will die tonight” unless Iran agrees to a deal and reopens the Strait of Hormuz.
Same principle.
The point is not genocide.
The point is deterrence: make the cost of escalation so clear that the other side thinks twice before dragging the region into disaster.
