@memphistigerjeb @rmcoleman14 @TOM_III_Guy @MemphisRecruits Wish I worked near the airport still. I miss stopping by Italian Rebel for lunch
English

Italian Rebel pizza and cold Budwiser made for a fine Friday night. I used to buy those 30 game season tickets and would go all the time. this image was from 1975 when the Blues were an International League farm team of the Astros. SBLS in the background gives you an idea of how low that east side was back in the day.

April 18, 1775. 251 years ago today. It was a Tuesday, and Americans throughout the 13 Colonies prepared to go about their day. Little did they know that the day would end with British troops marching to Concord, while Paul Revere, William Dawes, Samuel Prescott and countless others raised the Alarm. It would be the last day of British rule in Massachusetts, and the beginning of a journey that culminated in the Declaration of Independence and the birth of a new nation.

@MainlanderII @AstroZen34 @Tekeee You do realize banks often lose money when taking a home back? And in the cases where there’s a surplus that money goes back to the person who owned the home and not the bank
English

@AstroZen34 @Tekeee That's BS, the bank would gladly foreclose on your home and sell it. That's why we see advertisements offering the elderly a mortgage, because they know if they fail to pay or die they get the home and a good payout. Banks love people who get mortgages.

"Houston, we've had a problem"
Some of the most famous words in NASA's history were spoken on this day in 1970.
Two days into the Apollo 13 mission that was to land in the Moon's Fra Mauro region, a routine stirring of the spacecraft's oxygen tanks led to disaster. The crew reported hearing a loud bang and then noted that oxygen tank 2 was empty and tank 1's pressure was falling.
With the failing Apollo 13 spacecraft over 210,000 miles (330,000 km) from Earth, the race to save the crew from the life-threatening accident began.
In this photo we see the Mission Operations Control Room at what is now Johnson Space Center, during a television transmission that took place just before the accident. Eugene F. Kranz (wearing a white vest with his back to camera), was on duty as one of the four Apollo 13 flight directors. On the large screen we see astronaut Fred W. Haise Jr., Apollo 13's lunar module pilot.
