@ChevyRay And more often than not they are clearly based on themselves. It’s like.. “I love this world and want to be in it but obviously that’s impossible so I’ve created a proxy for myself that would fit in”. It’s so sweet.

@ChevyRay I actually see it used more in a slightly different way; almost exclusively used by artists, describing a single character they have invented, with a similar style and living in the same world as the franchise they love, but - crucially - not part of any larger fanfic.

It feels like I should be washing my hands before using the Xbox Series X/S controller, its such good industrial/hardware design. Textured grips, clean lines and surface, Msoft did a great job with it. Would be a travesty to get that thing dirty or scuffed or something.
