This morning I’m thinking of the grieving families of Bebe, Elsie & Alice. We will not let acts of hatred tarnish their memory. The mob in Southport may have gone home, but the threat of the far right remains. This is a wake-up call for those who have emboldened them by parroting their rhetoric and pandering to their ideas. The only antidote to hatred is hope. The vast majority of people in Southport, and across the country, respond to horror the only way they know how: with compassion, unity and solidarity. They should inspire us that, if we come together, we can bring about a kinder and safer society for all.

I hope that during this Leo season you feel your inner-flame strengthening. I hope you remember that we wouldn’t know darkness without light so these dark times have no chance against our collective radiance. May all those walking a path full of heart be the lighthouses we need.

Rafah – where 1.5 million Palestinians are sheltering – is under attack. Today outside Downing Street I said there must be consequences for this atrocity: The UK government must ban arms sales to Israel – and the International Criminal Court must hold Netanyahu to account.

The assault on Rafah is genocide in action. Political leaders in the UK must call this for what it is, it’s a war crime. International action is needed to halt the attack. We need an urgent vote in Parliament to end the UK’s complicity in this & to end the arms sales to Israel
