@greatesthitsuk Curly Spencer? And you let him win with that! Makes a mockery of the quiz. He clearly didn't know the answer. Perhaps if we can hum the song, we get points?

Several investment measures have took place recently Kirsty - one of the initiatives we’re excited about is the creation of two new borehole supplies, along with building pipelines to connect areas in need and establishing new water treatment works. These efforts will help strengthen our grid network and enhance the resilience of our water supply system. Last year, we invested £16 million to further tackle leakage. With 100 new members joining our leakage team and our innovative acoustic logging technology, we’re now able to pinpoint leaks more quickly for faster repairs. Over the past five years, we’ve managed to reduce leakage by 15%, and we’re excited to target an additional 12% reduction in the next five years. I’m also thrilled to share that over the next five years, we’ll be investing £406 million to replace 1,000 km of water mains to prevent bursts. - Yorkshire Water Social Team

I think they are missing the part of severe underinvestment in infrastructure for over a decade whilst taking huge profits to shareholders and now putting our bills up! We see you Yorkshire Water! #DirtyBusiness

Hello Kirsty, Thank you for sharing your concerns about pollution of Yorkshires rivers. We truly understand your frustration, and we want to assure you that we are actively working to enhance our performance in this area. There are several factors that can lead to discharges even when it’s not raining, such as blockages in the pipes or overflow issues that disrupt the flow. Additionally, groundwater or surface water may inadvertently enter the network. In cases where heavy rainfall occurs in one area, it can take time for the flows to reach our wastewater treatment works, potentially overwhelming that part of the system. Rest assured, we are committed to addressing these challenges. We have already invested £180 million to reduce the use of storm overflows and are about to launch our largest environmental program yet, with a total investment of £1.5 billion aimed at tackling storm overflows. For more details on our initiatives, please visit this link: yorkshirewater.com/news-media/new… Thank you for your understanding and support Kirsty as we work towards improving water quality in Yorkshire. Best regards, Yorkshire Water Social Team

Each month, we’ll be keeping you up to date with the infrastructure improvements happening across Yorkshire. From upgrading storm overflows and replacing ageing water pipes to building new storage and nature-based solutions, our colleagues are working hard across the region to improve our water and wastewater network. @YorkshireWater @CleanIlkley have you ever considered not responding to everything? You can't be that stupid to think we care about your excuses. You cannot justify paying £££££'s to the bosses and shareholders when your framework is falling apart! Now you want us to pay for what you should have maintained

Hi. There are a variety of reasons for discharges to occur. There could be something blocking the pipe or the overflow that’s causing it to operate when it shouldn’t. Blockages can be made up of things like wet wipes, which shouldn’t be flushed down the loo, or debris and rubble from a damaged sewer. Groundwater or surface water could be getting into our network when it shouldn’t be. This could be from a pipe that’s been plumbed in incorrectly, a watercourse that’s connected into the network or high groundwater levels entering our pipes meaning they’re filling up with water that shouldn’t be there Storm overflows can also discharge when it’s not raining if they cover a large catchment. This can happen when it’s rained heavily in one part of the catchment, which might be a different village or town, and it takes some time for the flows make their way to the wastewater treatment works – and when it finally does, it can overwhelm that part of the network. The wastewater will be screened, settled in storm tanks and be diluted by rainwater. Thanks, Yorkshire Water Social Team

@YorkshireWater @Lels1960 So with their expertise, why have they not kept the drains/pipes etc. up to date and maintianed? Too busy spending their 'deserved' bonuses I guess!

@DonnaDlm71 It costs more to process the multiple payments as opposed to one-off payment? That would be taken in to account? Also, always been a fan of 'if you can't afford it, don't buy it' If we are talking about paying bills, the companies usually say if struggling to contact them

Why is that so many pay in instalment/direct debit plans, supposed to make paying more manageable, actually cost more? So let me get this right those most in need of manageable payments get charged more than someone who can afford to pay up front in the first place! Make it stop

🗣️ Ruben Amorim on his system: "I think in the future we can change also, like I was always talking to you guys, the system, we can play a different way. To take more quality from these players, because I have the feeling that if we have to play a perfect 3-4-3, we need to spend a lot of money and we need time. "So, I'm starting to understand that is not going to happen, so maybe I have to adapt. But talking about the winger position is to play with Amad is completely different. Imagine if we have a different character with a right foot like Amad on the other side, so you can be more aggressive. "You can change the way you play completely with the same system. Last year we played with Nous and [Tyrell] Malacia, sometimes. So, it's a completely different system if you play with Amad and another winger doing the opposite side, in the opposite side. So that was my meaning in that point."
