Guys, I remember Eastern Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Pan American (PanAm), Continental, Trans World Airlines (TWA), Frontier Airlines, ValuJet, US Airways, Midwest Airlines and Mfing Hooters Air. Let’s stop acting like this is new.

They only “ceased to exist” on paper. Their employees and planes all were integrated into one airline in the U.S. A liquidation sale is not even close to the same thing. There is no guarantee those aircraft stay in U.S. commercial service, or that the employees all get jobs. The end result is not the same. Full stop.

It was merge or die. They merged and ceased to exist. They’re not still flying. Delta, United and American are still flying. Frontier is a new airline. Not the old Frontier. Biden stopped this one from merging but the end result is the same. Its assets will be absorbed by the others.

And that’s just the people in Spirit uniforms. Catering goes. Fuel guys go. Baggage crews, gate agents, airport coffee shops, hotels and rental cars in 70 cities Spirit flew to. That’s reality. Not some BS number from a “study.” So @SenWarren tell me how this saves the consumer money? Cheap carriers in a market drop fares 21% across the board. Southwest did this in the 90s and saved Americans $68 BILLION over 20 years. Warren killed it. That’s what moronic politicians led by socialism do. Then with her own blind arrogance, she tweeted Spirit’s collapse is “a Biden win for flyers.” A win. 14,000 people are reading termination letters tonight. And she’s taking credit. 2 things can be true. - the Biden Administration blocked a JetBlue/Spirit merger out of market consolidation concerns & now here we are with one company gone. - the final blow that caused Spirit to fall was skyrocketing jet fuel prices caused by the war in Iran.
