I think episode 12 of #MyRoyalNemesis made it clear,
After accident SeoRi went to Joseon and DanShim came to modern time. After her death in Joseon she again came back to modern era which she left as a child. So Lee Hyun and SaeGye both loved SeoRi not DanShim.
If this theory is true that SeoRi and DanShim are separate soul then it is safe to say, they've used Mobiüs Strip
Concept of time travel.
It was earlier used in the drama "Someday Or One day" (Taiwanese),
and it's Korean remake "A Time Called You". This drama is based on this Concept.
[Möbius Strip: Take a paper strip. Join ends normally → two sides (like a belt).
Twist one end halfway then join → one single side.
Walk along it and you return to the start, but flipped. Everything connects as one endless loop — no separate front/back.]
That's why in the intro you'll always see only SeoRi (only one person) is coming to Lee Hyun and Cha SaeGye.

The theory every one is talking about is - The Butterfly Dream which is a famous philosophical parable from the ancient Chinese thinker Zhuangzi from the book Zhuangzi (4th century BCE). Lee Hyun and Cha Se-gye are dreaming each other via the Zhuangzi motif. When one wakes,the other does too and the dream state is a bridge between timelines. Butterfly symbolize transformation and the illusion of separate realities. If we assume it's a Parallel Universes theory: The Joseon era and modern Seoul exist as parallel worlds that occasionally intersect (via possession, dreams, or cracks like SeoRi's childhood accident). DanShim doesn't just time-slip but she slips into a parallel version of reality where Seo-ri's body is available. So the history repeats because the same souls are drawn to similar conflicts/fates across branches of reality. Meeting isn't coincidence but a convergence point where the parallels align for a second chance. But It’s less “parallel universes running independently” [ it does create a timing puzzle for a "strict" parallel universes model. In classic parallel universe theory (like Many-Worlds Interpretation in quantum mechanics), the two realities would branch and run simultaneously on their own timelines. Events in one wouldn't directly "cause" or lag behind events in the other] and more “same souls, different vessels, with fate pulling them together across a thin veil.” This suggests the dreams aren’t happening in a fully independent, always running parallel Joseon universe.
