In the last month I watched my mentees: sign contracts for their 1st academic jobs; give their 1st big Grand Rounds; secure multiple @NIH grants. Each will mentor 100 more. This is how you influence pt care beyond your own practice & #MedEd beyond your own classroom. #Mentoring

A good apology doesn't just express remorse for what we did wrong last time. It highlights what we're going to do better next time.
To repair a relationship, it isn't enough to acknowledge mistakes. We need to stop making the same mistakes.
Trust is regained as actions change.

It’s a wrap. Last call day of my career. 47 years taking calls. No mas. Placing a nasogastric tube with endoscopy help in the OR before a liver transplant .

With the heaviest of hearts I announce that my son, Quinn Capers, V passed away Tues night at the age of 29. Quinn had severe cerebral palsy and lifelong respiratory issues. His passing was peaceful. So many of you have reached out and we appreciate all of the love & prayers.
