Zionism is not a modern construct like most people think. Zionism is deeply ingrained in Judaism. Yes there are Jews that say they are anti Zionist, and if that's the case, being a practising Jew at the same time makes no sense. No matter where in the world, when Jews pray, we face Jerusalem. In the Siddur that was written thousands of years ago, which is used to pray daily, we say prayers and thank God for allowing us to return to the Jewish land. We celebrate holidays about being in exile, and then returning to the homeland, Passover. It's probably one of the most, if not the most Zionist holiday there is. Using Zionism as a slur makes no sense. Claiming Zionism and Judaism are different makes no sense. Saying you have a problem with Zionists makes no sense. Yes, it's true, you do not need to be Jewish to be a Zionist, but given the fact the Judaism whole focus is based on what happened in the land of Judea thousands of years ago, there is no way someone can be a practising Jew and not be a Zionist.
