This is the argument I get
I don’t think Stammne has done bad given how ASS the offense is
But does seem like the dugout is dead

Something I think needs to be factored in more with Salas is his maturity and mental makeup. He was catching bullpens of major leaguers at age 16. He’s had to overcome adversity with performance and injury. Mindset and consistency now matching the immense talent. He’s special.

Ethan Salas turns 20 years old tomorrow. Here’s almost 14 minutes of 2026 highlights. He’s been a joy to watch.

Craig Stammen said in the post game interview that the team was battling. Do you remember who used to say that all the time when we sucked?
I'm absolutely sick of hearing him say it's coming when he's talking about our top three actually hitting the ball.
I'm sorry but these guys are not rookies. They know how to play situational baseball when we got RISP.
Even the new guy from Korea, Song, I would bet is aware of what situational baseball is.
The problem we have is batters swinging at every damn pitch that comes over the plate or off the plate.
And trying to swing for the fences to get the home run to quickly get a run on the board instead of manufacturing it is not how you play situational baseball.
Good teams get home runs and manufacture runs. You just can't rely on the homerun every game.
If they see a problem, like swinging at every pitch and getting a three pitch out why is nobody fixing this?
More ego massaging?
The same way they don't get moved down in the lineup because someone is ego massaging them.
"It is coming and they're working hard everyday."
That's what our manager says every day in the posthame scrum.
If they're working hard to fix their problem at the plate why is it we haven't seen any progress or change in their approach and their inability to lay off pitches out of the zone?
Sorry but they know what they're doing wrong. And the adjustments are easy. They just have to want to do it.
But like I say about athletes that have these mega contracts with shitloads of money I think as time goes on they start not giving a f***.
They've got the big money. They don't have to prove anything to get the contract. So they play like they're playing. That's just a theory of mine but it's probably not too off base. #ForTheFaithful

Craig Stammen spoke about Randy Vasquez's outing, Jackson Merrill's at-bats and also making another brilliant defensive play:

You need to be right now. Yesterday, two weeks ago, not some mystery date in the near future.

Manny Machado on if Padres can sustain their winning pct if offensive core doesn't figure it out "I kind of doubt that. 1, we can't sustain it. 2, I have confidence in everybody in this room that we're going to be right where we need to be." @FriarTerritory
