Due to chronic ongoing platform instability, I will cease publication on this platform as of August 2023. Those interested can find me instead on @ed.m.han" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">threads.net/@ed.m.han

@ed_han @LinkedInHelp So basically, they re-implemented a practice that actively discriminates against those who cannot afford Premium service, which are also those who most need the opportunity to connect and network. This is so far removed from what LinkedIn was created to be.

OK @LinkedInHelp we need to talk. #LinkedIn once again implemented a limit on notes accompanying invitations to connect, despite the enormous hue & outcry last time you did this. WE ALL 🅷🅰🆃🅴 THIS. Please revert back as soon as practical. If you agree, RT pls #LinkedIn

As my final tweet: Thank you Twitter for helping me find a profession that I adore and being an inextricable part of a massive amount of personal and professional growth. I loved the place this once was. Before the dark days. Before Ego Musk.

@ConnorLibutti Sometimes from “Hello” sometimes until the full 30, varies wildly for me I try to be more understanding as I’ve had great hires when the screen started poorly and I was inclined to wrap it up in 5

How long do you spend on an initial phone interview before deciding the candidate isn’t a fit? *Excluding outlier situations where the candidate is an ass right off the bat.*

Koir & a bunch of letters
@ed_han @Calendly You can use the free version but even if your org won’t allow it - IMO the goal of initial contact should be to set a time allowing them time to prep. If they want to dive in they will tell us. Differs strokes; different folks.

#RecruiterTip don’t put candidates in this spot to begin with. Text your @Calendly or other self-scheduling tool link to the candidates then wait a little to call & ask to set a time if not booked. Don’t put ppl on the spot to phone screen. If they can they’ll let you know.

My #jobsearch #tip4day: if you aren't ready for an unsolicited recruiter call, always ask to reschedule. Like all busy people, we schedule things, andthis is vastly preferable to a promising convo being cut short by a hard stop. Thank you for coming to my #EDtalk

My #resume #tip4day: literally nobody wants your home phone, unless it's the only number you have. It's 2023: the odds are higher you have a smartphone than a laptop computer. Thank you for coming to my #EDtalk

@Ko_Talent Define “important”. I like seeing them and so do some hiring managers I’ve known because it provides a more rounded picture As a networker, I love them, because selfish jerks have them but never write them for others, and I have no room in my network for such people

My #jobsearch #tip4day: always ask for what you actually want. The worst thing they can say is no. Which is why you should also always know what you will accept, if that's different. Thank you for coming to my #EDtalk

My #resume #tip4day: more employers are leaving fully remote for hybrid. Tell people what locations you would be open to commuting to. "30 miles" means very different things in TX and DC's Beltway. Thank you for coming to my #EDtalk

My #LinkedIn #tip4day: only 5.2% of the now 950M members post. That's still 49.4M, all competing for space in your feed. Don't like something? Scroll past. Like something? Comment on it, this trains the algorithms you want more of it. Thank you for coming to my #EDtalk
