Had the same experience recently. Unlike you, though I ended up having to migrate to the e-visa before I was allowed to board.
I did it through the ukvi website. Downloaded the 'immigration check app' and linked my visa using the nfc chip in my passport.
Funny enough, I was asked to present my visa upon arrival in the UK 😅. I refused since the visa slip is in my expired passport and told the officer that he must scan my passport and use the e-visa. I even had my share code on hand.
Little win there for me at least...

Recently, I was able to board a flight from a certain country to London and upon getting to the check in counter, I was told that there was a problem. They couldn’t board me because according to them, my UK visa (even though it was months from expiry) was no longer valid.

Omo GTB just approved a N9.5m line of credit for me😂😂… at 2.95% monthly interest. That’s about 36% APR give or take. Thinking of borrowing about N3m and just dumping it in stocks and crypto. I’m already up ~50% in MTN and Aradel this year. If I can get a weighted return of ~45% it’s worth the risk.
