adaap novel review because i can’t get totokanit out of my mind (minimal spoilers ahead) #ADogAndAPlane #หมาเห่าเครื่องบิน plot: it’s a light read with some angsty parts. very suitable for taynew. scrolling through the hashtag, some reviews from th polcas mention they cried in the novel. i agree. i also cried while reading the novel. it’s the kind of novel that makes me think “oh, they really love each other so much” because they do everything to make their relationship work. they don’t let go of each other’s hands characters: 1. toto: a dedicated rescue worker who chose this path after financial struggles forced him to change his path. he is grounded, humble, and hardworking. he also finds meaning in saving others especially after his father’s death. his ambition drives him more after he falls in love with kanit, by working more part time jobs and shifts 2. kanit: a meticulous and striking flight steward living in a world of luxury and high expectations. despite his polished exterior, he carries deep emotional wounds from past disappointments and family pressure. his dream is to be promoted (which is also a pretty huge part in the story) (both totokanit are people with rough exterior because of their experiences with their families and their lives. they bicker, they fight. but they also have a soft heart. and how they love each other will definitely show more of their soft side as toto treats kanit gently, and how kanit breaks down his walls by showing his vulnerability to toto only. kanit cries a lot in the novel, but he doesn’t really cry in front of other people. he only cries a lot in front of toto) 3. lion: a charismatic airline captain and kanit’s ex-boyfriend. he is a complex antagonist whose infidelity and sense of superiority create the central conflict. he is annoying other thoughts: - i actually wonder how chapter 14 will be executed in the series as it is an important part in totokanit's relationship development and how they deal with the consequences. i think that scene will be surprising for audiences outside the fandom. for me, kanit was mature enough to realize the implication of what they did. and toto… no words. just a green flag that understands kanit - it's really mature love (no, not "mature" as in filled with nc scenes). adult love (as tay mentioned in their event when he talked about adaap) means how adults deal with relationships. toto loves kanit very much that he doesn’t want kanit to lower himself down for him, but kanit also loves toto just as much too. he just shows it in different ways - some problems and some scenes felt unrealistic for me, which was also mentioned in spoiler tweets i read. i wonder if it will be incorporated. i actually think some of those will be incorporated - however, majority of the problems in the series are realistic based on how i personally see relationships between different classes. totokanit’s different statuses matter more because of their ages (i think they are in their late 20s? novel mentions toto is in his 20s) - expect less with nc scenes. there are two in the novel. one is slightly described while the other is not described, just the implication that they did it. which i honestly think is okay because adaap novel focuses more on the emotional weight of adult relationships than the physical. with how i watched p’jo’s works years ago, i think it will be different in adaap (with less nc scenes this time)... unless he changes a lot in the series which drives the characters to be more freaky? - overall, the novel is fluffy, i can say the sweetness level reminds me of cherry magic th, but the angst parts were good for me that i wish some good angst parts will be incorporated in the series fighting to p’jo, adaap cast and adaap production team! i’m excited to watch even more now i hope adaap lets taynew and polcas soar into new heights, reaching the skies and beyond 🐶✈️
