okay so basically he posted a DAW interface most likely ableton live from what i could tell (might be wrong) and you can actually see multiple vocal tracks laid out like he’s really deep in the process ㅠ
the “LD 1, 2, 3” tracks are lead vocals like his main voice and the fact that there are multiple LD tracks already tells you he’s stacking vocals. that’s a proper technique where you record the same lines multiple times and layer them to make the voice sound thicker, fuller almost dreamy and really polished. it’s not something casual. then you have the “AD-LIBS” which lowkey looks like “BAD LIES” at first glance haha and those are all the extra vocal parts that runs, harmonies, little background lines that fill the song and give it more emotion and texture. the fact that there are like three separate ad-lib tracks like yeah his solo is definitely going to be very vocal heavy and layered.
there’s also “DNU” which usually means “do not use.” producers keep those takes just in case they’re not final but they don’t delete them either. it kind of shows how detailed and perfectionist he’s being with shaping this Evan era sound like he’s really going through everything carefully and that purple track at the bottom is most likely for background vocals or harmonies separated from the main leads so everything stays clean and controlled in the mix.
overall, he’s definitely working on his solo album and you can tell he’s really deep into it. this isn’t just random studio time from what i see. everything looks thought through from the layers to the way he’s organizing his vocals. it feels like he’s fully focused on building his own sound and identity with this and more than anything, it shows he actually wants to give us something fully realized and not just release something for the sake of it and honestly, i don’t mind waiting because things that truly matter are worth taking time for 🤍
