I was -11 when Armstrong walked on the Moon! Yes, incredible times! I had a talk about this with my daughter (11) last night. Some sort of breakthrough now coming every other week. She thinks it's strange, and it confuses her. We just had more time back then to actually adjust to new things. Crazy stuff.

oh yeah, 9600, and then 15.6! Being old does have it's advantages. I actually watched (on TV of course) Neil Armstrong walk on the moon! I also saw the Apollo 17 rocket on the pad. I used to have a picture, but I threw it out for some dumb reason. We live in such an amazing time!

@SpaceXobsessed Got me beat! Yeah, I've heard of those, but never connected to one. That was a few years before I actually got access. I started dialing in with a 9600 modem. Blistering speeds! 🤣

In the 80’s, before the World Wide Web, there were Bulletin Board Systems. People would host these on a desktop computer in their home and other people would dial into them from their computer. It was mostly for getting shareware software, but you could also post messages. It sounds kind of awful thinking about it now, but back then it was pretty great. I remember upgrading my 1200 baud modem to a 2400 baud modem and being blown away by the speed!
