Waiting on a rocket... Winds continue to be an issue here at the VAB. NASA continues to monitor the conditions. Time keeps on ticking away 🎶

Rollout Number Two for SLS Artemis ll NASA’s Kennedy Space Center teams are preparing for the rollout of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to Launch Complex 39B tomorrow evening, Thursday, March 19, 2026, beginning around 8:00 PM EDT. Earlier this year the stacked vehicle was rolled back from the launch pad to the VAB after a helium flow issue was discovered in the upper stage (Interim Cryogenic Propulsion Stage). Engineers traced the problem to a defective seal in a quick-disconnect fitting and completed the repair in the controlled environment of the VAB. During final closeout preparations, technicians also identified and replaced a faulty electrical harness tied to the core stage’s flight termination system. The swift fix allowed NASA to recover the schedule and return to the original Thursday rollout target, preserving the opportunity for a launch attempt as early as April 1. #ArtemisII #NASA #SLS #Orion 📷@rpg571 for 📺What About It @FelixSchlang

Initial Super Heavy V3 and Starbase Pad 2 activation campaign complete, wrapping up several days of testing that loaded cryogenic fuel and oxidizer on a V3 vehicle for the first time. While the 10-engine static fire ended early due to a ground-side issue, we saw successful startup on all installed Raptor 3 engines. Next up: preparing the booster for a 33-engine static fire

🪉 A wee bit of St Patrick's Day trivia... • St. Patrick never mentioned the shamrock in his own 5th-century writings (Confessio & Letter – Book of Armagh manuscript, c. 807 CE). • First shamrock as St. Patrick’s Day badge: 1681, English traveller Thomas Dineley’s journal. • Shamrock Trinity legend first printed: 1726, botanist Caleb Threlkeld’s Irish plant catalogue. • Irish harp mastery described by eyewitness: 1188, Gerald of Wales’ Topographia Hibernica. • Harp becomes Ireland’s official arms: 1260s, Wijnbergen Roll of Arms. • Harp first appears on Irish coins: 1534, Henry VIII “harp groats.” • Earliest carved harp in Ireland: c. 900 CE on Muiredach’s High Cross (Monasterboice). • Modern Irish harp emblem copied from real 14th/15th-century Brian Boru harp (Trinity College Dublin). • Original St. Patrick colour = blue (1783 Order of St. Patrick sash & Henry VIII coins). • FIRST U.S. celebration: Boston, March 17, 1737 – Charitable Irish Society founded & dined that day • Earliest NYC mention: 1756 New-York • FIRST NYC St. Patrick’s Day parade: 1762 by Irish soldiers in the British Army • George Washington’s official holiday order: March 16, 1780 for Irish troops

100 years ago, Robert Goddard launched the first successful liquid-fueled rocket, Nell. During our conversation last week with @NASAAdmin Jared Isaacman, we asked him about what he believes will be the next near-impossible achievements for NASA. Here's what he told us:

🚨BOOSTER 19 STATIC FIRE CLOSE UP 4K Here's our close-up shot in 4K. If you look closely, you can see the flash from the igniters just before the blast. 🔥 It seems to have been a bit short. Could be an abort. We'll see if SpaceX confirms anything. 📸@Jordanguidry6

🚨BOOSTER 19 STATIC FIRE ➡️First time a v3 Starship stage has ever ignited engines. ➡️First time a Raptor 3 engine was fired on a pad. ➡️First time Pad 2 was used! It looks like a short-duration static fire of all 10 engines, but we'll have to wait for confirmation! 🔥

🚀 Watching Apollo 11 the 2019 documentary on Netflix made with all real footage of the launch and moon landing. It's so cool to see all the historical places at NASA, Titusville, Jetty Park and Cape Canaveral, route 528 all places that I'm so familiar with now some 55 years later! Also so cool to see all the old cameras, all the press reporters hovering around pay telephones, the old tube televisions that were rolled, I mean this movie is a real time capsule and it's so exciting to watch it knowing that we might be less than a month away from returning to the moon with SLS!

Happy Pi day! 🥧 SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket this morning from SLC-40 at CCSFS in Florida. The mission was another Starlink, Group 10-48, that carried 29 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit, liftoff was at 8:37 AM EDT. The first-stage booster landed on the droneship as planned, and satellite deployment was confirmed shortly after.🚀🛰️ 📷 by @rpg571 for What About It @FelixSchlang
