Sorry I actually want to expand on this I have more thoughts. I feel like we get close with stuff like the draculaura potions room orth upcoming potion playset, or like the unfortunately cheaply made Frankie pet building set. I think those are cool and actually relate to their monster features and stuff, I think fearbook kinda starts to lean into it but not really enough, it's still just like little basic hobbies that are no different from human hobbies. They've all but given up on monster high media outside of those horrific stop motion wannabe tik toks so we NEED th dolls themselves to do more to convey who and what they are. People are mentioning Robecca a lot when they talk about any new characters being stunted by the lack of media for kids to connect to and I think she's a great example. You have to already know g1/g2 history and media to know she's a robot, the box and accessories don't really make t obvious. She just has some vague science stuff. You have to look close at her to realize oh she has like rivets and shit and MAYBE kids would understand what those are but many would just think she has gross weird bumps. Kids arent gonna know what the fuck "scaredevil robot" means on the back of the box and that's the only thing on the box related to her monster type besides her farting shoes. And the lack of media now means new characters have a much harder time selling unless it's generic always gonna sell pink dolls. It's just unfortunate how unwilling they seem to be to lean into the very thing that separates monster high from other doll lines.

There's a shocking lack of whimsy!!! G3 feels like their monster features are just kinda there and only exist for like. Clothing patterns and accessories. All the lines we've gotten are unrelated to the girls being monsters and going to a supernatural school. They're not doing anything Barbie wouldn't do. Oh cool a school dance line and they're cheerleaders and wow self care. Cool, I guess. I want more stuff that actually relates to their monsterness. I want silly nonsense turn these bitches into horses and sea creatures fuse them together send them to a haunted carnival!! Fucking ANYTHING!!!!!
