The group of Seven Plus (g7+) expresses profound sorrow and concern regarding the recent aerial bombings by Pakistan that tragically struck health facility in Kabul, Afghanistan, resulting in the loss of hundreds of innocent lives. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families mourning their loved ones and wish a swift and complete recovery to those who have been injured.
The targeting of civilians and healthcare centers stands in direct violation of international norms and humanitarian principles. We strongly reiterate our urgent call for restraint and an immediate ceasefire, urging all involved parties to resolve differences through peaceful dialogue and negotiation. The continuation of hostilities during the holy month of Ramadan, a period dedicated to peace and patience, adds to the gravity of the situation.
Escalation of violence and conflict only leads to further suffering for innocent civilians and deepens the existing fragility and vulnerability in the region. Afghanistan and Pakistan cannot endure continued conflict; their only viable path forward is peaceful coexistence.
We urge international and regional actors to intensify their efforts toward resolving this crisis, which has already exacted a devastating toll on innocent communities. Now is the time for collective action and unwavering support for peace.

The g7+ Secretariat represented by Mr. Habib Mayar, Deputy General Secretary participated in the concluding meeting of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) Food Security Task Force, where the Joint Statement on “Resilience of Food Systems as Forward Defense” was formally endorsed and submitted.
The statement, that was signed off by the taskforce members of which g7+ is a member during the 62nd Munich Security Conference. It underscores that conflict remains the primary driver of acute hunger while food insecurity itself fuels instability, displacement, and social unrest. It highlights the growing weaponization of food through the destruction of agricultural infrastructure, manipulation of supply chains, economic coercion, and emerging cyber and biological threats, calling for stronger accountability and enforcement of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2417.
The Task Force emphasizes the urgent need to shift from reactive crisis response to proactive resilience-building by investing in diversified and climate-resilient agrifood systems, strengthening local production, enhancing early-warning mechanisms, and integrating food security into peacebuilding, development, and national security strategies.
For g7+ member states, food security is fundamental to sovereignty, stability, and sustainable development. #MSC2026 #MSCReport @Habibmayar
