Absolutely killer wares from @ghost_assembly_ I Miss Your Love comes across as a stone cold underground classic from the heyday of house (something that’s also beautifully illustrated on the insert). What a choon! ❤️

so, alas no's 3 - 8 don't connect with me as strongly. However I've always loved the tender 'Flowers..' w/ Buck’s gorgeous solo..and no.10 concludes on a high with another personal favourite, that burnished, wistful beauty 'Half A World Away.' Stipe/ LL alignment: 4/10. 🧡

My belated report. I'm extremely delighted to see no's 1 + 2 : both are Heavyweight Gold Standard favourites of mine too (further confirming that Stipe and I are soulmates). I simply didn't have the same obsessive relationship with the REM canon beyond 'New Adventures..' 1/2

@TomJones1875 @LoneLadyHQ When Monster first came out it felt to me like Strange Currencies was very much a re-tread of Everybody Hurts. I still thought it was very beautiful, but it seemed like they might be running out of ideas a bit. I am surprised by how few tracks off Automatic feature.

Splitting a composition across two 40” tape loops. All sounds are from the Oberheim M-1000, except for Höfner bass. I recorded each section to the loops with a small gap before the restart then used a long reverb pedal (Mercury7) to bridge the sections. #soundart
