I should not have mentioned Ghost Face here as people took it really differently that it was meant.
It's an original interpretation in the same way 2009's Friday the 13th was a new interpretation. It's still 100% Jason, but not the one we know from earlier movies. This one's just "exclusive" to DBD.
Like how we have Freddy from 2010 NOES, not Freddy from original NOES. :)

According to Creators, who were given information by BHVR, this Jason is an original interpretation sort of like Ghost Face. He is not the same Jason as from the F13 movies, and his lore will probably be changed to reflect that.
