@richchetwynd It's been a somewhat cursed year -- seems like more players saving their energy for the AO and using Auckland as a casual warm-up. A few of the top women withdrew early. Women's finals ended early with Naomi Osaka injury after 1 set. Men's doubles finals cancelled last minute.

@yoavlurie @rklau I agree w/ everyone else -- nothing great out there that I could find. Started coding a side-project last year, then I moved to NZ and lost focus. Now I share my fav recipes using a Google Photos shared album. 🤷‍♂️

Great paper out of 🇳🇿 shows that controlling property for socio-economic status (SES) is the key. When controlling for SES using proxies, alcohol still seems to have a positive benefit, but using actual SES reveals no benefits: academic.oup.com/psychsocgeront…
