It was very institution-specific since #residency educational requirements are stringent. Many residents were taking vacation time to do trips or only during “lighter” research year(s) #AWSchat #GlobalSurgery

It’s a team sport-everyone (students, residents, fellows & surgeons at any point in their career) have something to contribute. Also many roles for non-surgeons #AWSchat #GlobalSurgery

Responding to local physician and patient needs is very important. Training in surgical practice is one of the greatest contributions we can make globally. #awschat
