Trumps use of placing troops in US cities for political purposes, only identifying cities with democratic leadership is shameful and decisive, and is eroding support for the men and women in the armed forces. Why isn’t he sending troops to Mississippi that has higher crime rates

CCSD - No money for teachers? Jara gave his leadership team a 15% raise in the last 18 months,The trustees gave Jara a 23% raise ($75,000) last year and pay for his pelaton bike but can’t find 10% this year and 8% for next year for teachers #ccsd #ccea

@cceanv Jara received a 23% raise last year, (75,000/320,000 = 22.7%), gave his central adm big raise. Those raises are permanent and are paid year after year and increase their retirement benefits. He gave teachers a bonus, a one-shot deal that goes away and does not affect retirement.

“This is not acceptable. This presentation is, once again, about blaming others for CCSD’s failures, but whether it’s about chronic absenteeism or our crisis of vacancies, it is time for CCSD to examine their own actions and inactions.” 8newsnow.com/news/local-new…

It’s not working. In fact, it has the opposite effect. Why did we take away autonomy of professional educators when in actuality you are increasing the school to prison pipeline by your continual enablement of bad behavior?

Speeding thru that zone, going 60 mph takes 4 minutes. Are those 2 minutes saved worth a life or getting in an accident? Do the math!

Speeding – how much time is saved? The average car trip in the U.S. is 4 miles. Going 4 miles at an average speed of 40 mph in a 40mph speed zone takes 6 minutes - assuming no traffic.

5 seconds of distraction at 40 miles per hour approximates 290 feet or almost a whole football field. Taking your eyes off the road for reading or texting can easily result in maiming or killing someone – is it really worth it? Do the math

Texting while driving – a real trip A person travelling at an average speed of 20 miles per hour goes approximately 30 feet per second – in football that’s a first down – 10 yards in one second.

Amaze your students by showing them how to compute in their head and why those “shortcuts” work. Take the stress out of your life by truly enjoying a math workshop.

I believe it is time we stop referring to it as student "discipline" but instead refer to it as student "consequences." We should be teaching students that all of our actions (good or bad) have consequences to help us learn from the action. #LeadK12chat

And our students deserve to have teachers that know the content they are teaching, know how to teach that content, have resources that support instruction and achievement and have assessments that accurately measure what is being taught in our classrooms.

Our students and staff deserve no less than to feel as safe in school as Jara does in his protective office.

No Consequence Policies – Have Consequences In Jara’s District Address, he clearly suggested the problems in CCSD were here before he arrived. That’s a fact. But, he is just as clearly not accepting the fact he has exacerbated the problems with his “no consequences” policies.
