@hime_sawada I usually skip recaps. And I've never written to a cast member before. (I also swore never to use X again.) But I have to say: you really bring Tina to life, and you made the recap a delight. Don't underestimate yourself. You're talented, dedicated, and intelligent.

It's been a year, and Musk's actions have only proven that quitting Twitter was the correct and moral call. I do miss some things, like Spoonie Chats with @DawnMGibson, but it's necessary. Mastodon has been good. I'm not coming back here.

Before everything burns to the ground: I just set up @WearsHats@realsocial.life on Mastodon. No idea how much I'll use it. But it's there.

@CapehartJ Notice a problem here? The guy in gray on the far left is the sign language interpreter. The reason we can no longer see his right hand? B-roll from the previous night that doesn't show anything informative. Please ask producers to reconsider in the future.

@Tinu @PanickedFoodie @rahaeli Supposedly MeWe is liberal Facebook. Again, no ads, so they're not mining and selling data. But I never had the spoons to find people there and make connections.

@Tinu @PanickedFoodie @rahaeli DreamWidth is LiveJournal rebuilt by the original team. It's blogging, not social media. There are communities. IDK how it is now. I haven't used mine in years. But I have a lot of respect for Rahaeli, and FWIW she's a liberal disabled lesbian who takes pains to be accountable.

That would be the problem with turning Twitter into a sh!thole or dismissing staff en masse. The main way Twitter makes money is advertising. Piss off your user base and they leave. Turn it into Truth Social & you can't make a profit.

@Tinu @PanickedFoodie Also, if you want GOOD TOS, it's DreamWidth. No ads on the site. @rahaeli is someone I genuinely trust to be proactively respectful, listen and hold herself accountable, and stand up for marginalized communities. But IDK if LJ long form blogging is where it's at.

@Tinu @PanickedFoodie And where you draw the line. I have MeWe, Cappuccino, and DreamWidth. I might try Mastodon. Haven't been using any of them. Barely been using Twitter. Basically just Discord. But I'll get your newsletter and Patreon so I can be sure to keep you in my life.

@PanickedFoodie @Tinu The red flag for me isn't the TOS. It's the scammer in charge. Occ Dems has always trafficked in disinformation and stolen IP. If you told me they were a Russian influence op, I wouldn't be surprised. I blocked them years ago. No way I'm going to a platform they run.
