It’s always valuable to listen to diverse perspectives and engage in meaningful conversations on matters that impact our people. Was also called upon by the Meira Paibi group from Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi, who proposed for a Meira Shang to be constructed, as the present one is in a dilapidated condition resulting in inconvenience to the women who are the torch bearers of our society. Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two young lives in Tronglaobi, Moirang. Such brutal acts of violence, especially at a time when the entire state is striving for peace, are deeply disturbing. Those who seek to spread fear and division for their own agendas must be held accountable. The authorities have to ensure the safety of all civilians and deliver justice to the grieving families by bringing the perpetrators to book in accordance with the law. We must stand united against violence and work collectively towards lasting peace.

After a brief pause due to the rains, improvement works on interior roads have resumed. Blacktopping has begun at Meino Leirak, along with the cementing of smaller pathways and access roads leading to gates and courtyards. During my visit to Bangalore for the IPL opening match, I had the privilege of catching part of an inspiring women’s football game between FC Imphal and Kemp FC Karnataka. The match ended in a draw, but what truly stood out was the incredible support from football lovers from our State who showed up to cheer for our girls. It was a pleasure to have met everyone there. A special moment, meeting Venkatesh Prasad at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore during the IPL opening, and then talking about that iconic spell taking it to another level. His dismissal of Aamer Sohail in the 1996 Cricket World Cup quarter final is still one of the most talked about moments in India–Pakistan cricket history. Sohail hitting him for four and pointing to where he’d hit it, and then Prasad calmly coming back the very next ball to bowl him was pure drama and composure under pressure.

The improvement works of the Community Hall at Bijoy Govinda Keli Makhong are progressing well, with fencing and floor tiling currently underway. This hall, inaugurated during my previous term, required timely repairs, and am glad to see the work moving smoothly. My sincere thanks to the committee members for their proactive efforts and dedication to development in the locality. Most of the blacktopping work at Amudon is nearing completion. Our focus will now shift to Wahengbam Leikai Lairembi Road, Salam Leikai Mayai Leirak, Meino Leirak, and Takhel Leikai. Work for road at Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai will also commence soon, as the drain works are almost completed, along with the laying of a water pipeline. Handed over a table tennis table to the club members of Mabudhou Mantri Leikai Maning Leirak. The members had expressed their desire to provide a recreational space for the youths of the locality to engage in sports and stay active. As assured earlier, blacktopping work has commenced in the remaining parts of Amudon. If the weather remains favorable, we expect to complete it by today or tomorrow. In the coming days, work will also be taken up in Wahengbam Leikai, Meino Leirak (Maisnam Nongthombam Leikai), and Salam Leikai (Mayai Leirak). With the rains pausing for now, we will also begin blacktopping of interior roads leading up to gates and courtyards.
