OTT Plus என்ற தளத்தில் "சல்லியர்கள்".. தம்பி #கிட்டு இயக்கத்தில் ஈழத்து மண்ணில் நடந்த உண்மை சம்பவங்களை தழுவிய படைப்பு. திரையரங்கங்கள் சரியாக கிடைக்காததால் ஓடிடியில் நேரடியாக வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார்கள். இதற்கு நாம் தரும் ஆதரவே இன்னும் நல்ல படங்கள் உருவாக வழிவகுக்கும். #சல்லியர்கள்

அனைவருக்கும் வணக்கம்... எமது வி ஹவுஸ் புரொடக்ஷன் வெளியீடாக சல்லியர்கள் என்ற படத்தை ஜனவரி ஒன்று அதாவது இன்று வெளியிட இருந்தோம். வெளியீட்டு தேதியை அறிவித்துவிட்டு பார்த்தால் திரையரங்குகள் கிடைக்கவில்லை. வெறுமனே 27 திரையரங்குகள் மட்டுமே கிடைக்கின்றன. இன்று சிறிய படங்களின் நிலை இப்படித்தான் பரிதாபமாக இருக்கிறது. வெறும் 27 திரையரங்குகளை வைத்துக்கொண்டு படத்தை எப்படி வெளியிடுவது? அதனால் எங்கள் படம் திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியாகவில்லை. ஆனாலுய் எந்த பெரிய படமும் வெளியாகவில்லை. அப்படியிருந்தும் திரையரங்குகள் தரவில்லை. நாங்கள் எடுத்திருப்பது தமிழ் மக்கள் சார்ந்து ஈழப் போராட்டம் சார்ந்து எடுத்துள்ள தமிழ் மக்களுக்கான படம். எம் மக்களுக்கான படத்தை இங்கே வெளியிட இவ்வளவு போராட்டமாக உள்ளது. குறிப்பாக பிவிஆர் திரையரங்கம் ஒரு திரையரங்குகூடத் தரவில்லை. திரையரங்கு கேட்டு பேசிப் பார்த்தும் கிடைக்கவில்லை. அழைத்தால் போனையே எடுக்கவில்லை. அத்தனை திரையரங்குகளும் நிரம்பியா வழிகிறது? தராமலிருக்க! எங்கிருந்தோ வந்து எம் மக்கள் பணத்தை சுரண்டிக் கொழுத்துவிட்டு எம்மையே புறக்கணிக்கும் செயலைச் செய்ய முடிவதெப்படி? பெரிய படங்களுக்கு கொடுக்கும் மரியாதையை சிறிய படங்களுக்கு தராததும் ஒரு நவீன தீண்டாமைதான். இங்கிருக்கும் சங்கங்கள் சரியில்லை. அவர்களுக்குள் ஒற்றுமையில்லை. எத்தனை சிறுபடங்கள் நசுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது? முறைப்படுத்த எந்த முயற்சியும் செய்யவில்லை. செய்ய இயலவில்லை. காரணமற்ற காரியங்களில் கவனம் செலுத்தும் இவர்கள் ஏன் கார்ப்பரேட் முதலாளிகளை முறைப்படுத்தவில்லை? சிறிய படங்களுக்கான திரையரங்குகள் பிவிஆர் போன்றவற்றில் வெளியிட ஏன் திட்டம் தீட்டவில்லை? ஒன்றிணைந்து போராடாதவரை எதுவுமே நடக்க வாய்ப்பில்லை. இன்று சுரேஷ் காமாட்சிக்கு நடந்தது நாளைக்கு இன்னொரு தயாரிப்பாளருக்கு நடக்கலாம். ஏற்கெனவே பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் நிறைய இருக்கிறார்கள். ஒரு படம் ஓடாதுன்னு தீர்மானிக்க இவர்கள் யார்?! திரையரங்கு கொடு. படம் ஓடலைன்னா தூக்கு. பரவாயில்லை. ஆனால் முன்கூட்டியே தீர்மானிக்க அவர்கள் படம் பார்த்தார்களா? இல்லையே! அப்படியிருக்கும்போது ஏன் திரையரங்கு தர மறுக்கவேண்டும்?! ஒரு ஈழத் தமிழ் படத்தை வெளியிடக்கூடாது என்பதில் எங்கிருந்தோ வந்து இங்கு கோலோச்சும் இந்த கார்ப்பரேட் முதலாளித்தும் தீர்மானிப்பது வெட்கக் கேடானது. கர்நாடகாவிலோ ஆந்திராவிலோ அவர்கள் சமூகம் சார்ந்து வெளியாகும் படத்தை வெளியிட முடியாது... திரையரங்கு தரமுடியாது என சொல்லிவிட முடியுமா? காரணம் அவங்க முறைப்படுத்தி வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். சிறிய படங்கள் ஓடுகிறது. ராஜூ வெட்ஸ் ரம்பை என்ற சிறு முதலீட்டுப் படம் 22 கோடி வசூலித்திருக்கிறது. காரணம் திரையரங்கு அவர்களுக்கு கிடைக்கிறது. நமக்கு நல்ல படம்தான் எடுத்திருக்கிறோமா? மக்கள் வந்து பார்ப்பார்களா? என்பதைத் தெரிந்துகொள்ளக் கூட வாய்ப்பில்லாமல் போய்விடுகிறது. பெரிய படங்களில் காசு பார்த்துக் கொண்டு சிறு படங்களை நசுக்கி கொல்கிறார்கள். இப்படியே போனால் தமிழ் சினிமா மெல்லச் சாகும். ஏற்கெனவே செத்துப்போய்தான் இருக்கிறது. இனியும் இந்நிலை தொடர்ந்தால் அவ்வளவுதான். விழித்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள் தயாரிப்பாளர்களே. இன்று நான் நாளை நீங்கள். சல்லியர்கள் படம் OTT PLUS என்கிற தளத்தில் வெளியாக உள்ளது. உலகம் முழுக்க உள்ள தமிழர்கள் இப்படத்தை பார்த்து ஆதரவு தாருங்கள். பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் காட்சியில் பார்த்துவிட்டு கலங்கி அனைவரும் சொன்ன வார்த்தை பார்க்க வேண்டிய படம்.. பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டிய ஒன்று என்று. ஒரு நல்ல படத்தைப் புறக்கணித்தவர்களுக்கு சிறந்த பாடமாக இதன் வெற்றி அமைய மக்கள் அனைவரும் ஆதரவு தருமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன். இதே பிரசாத் லேப் திரையரங்கில் இப்படம் வெற்றிப்படம் என்பதை அறிவிக்கும் விழா நடக்கும் என்ற உறுதி தருகிறேன். உலகத் தமிழர்களின் ஆதரவோடு... நன்றி! சுரேஷ் காமாட்சி தயாரிப்பாளர்/ இயக்குநர்.

The funniest part is the question wasn’t even to the actress. He asked the hero “What is her weight?” just because he lifted her in a scene. That alone shows how irrelevant and unprofessional the question was. Public websites listing basic details does not make it okay to ask a woman about her body on stage. A press meet is about the film, not about reducing an actress to numbers. Professionalism applies everywhere, including cinema.

The problem here isn’t whether you knew her or not. The problem is a journalist asking a woman about her weight on a public stage and then defending it. Calling women’s rights “exploited tools” explains why such behaviour is still normalised. This conversation is necessary, not manufactured.

So because she’s an actress, you think anyone can ask her anything? What kind of logic is that? Being an actress doesn’t make her public property. It doesn’t give random men the right to question her body like they’re entitled to it. You call yourself ‘Tamil Kudimagan’ — a citizen. Then act like one. Respecting women is also a basic civic value. An actress is an artist, not a showroom mannequin for people to examine. This mindset — ‘she’s an actress so we can ask’ — is exactly the problem. No profession gives anyone the right to cross boundaries or ask irrelevant, invasive questions.She stood up for herself. More people should.

Public domain’? Yes — because actors’ details sometimes get published, not because they’re obliged to answer intrusive questions. That doesn’t give anyone the right to ask a woman her height and weight in a public event. How is that even relevant to a film promotion? Are you doing journalism or a medical check-up? And calling her response ‘attention-seeking’ is absurd. She’s already an actress — why would she need this to create attention? She stood up for herself, that’s it. What’s actually alarming is people thinking women should quietly tolerate irrelevant, body-focused questions instead of calling them out.

@thil_sek Most actresses height and weight data are available in the public domain. They consider it to come under bio-data matter. If the question was asked with intention of body shame then ok. People these days use controversy as a tool to attain fame. Looks like an attention trap.
